The title, "Kanjinsho," here meaning "dishonest merchants" provokes a chuckle with its similarity to the title of the well-known play. Two of the characters in the play, the barrier guardian Togashi Saemon, here depicted as a moneylender, and warrior-priest Benkei, here a rice dealer, are engaged in conversation.
