制作刊行年等:明治12年 ; 出版地等:東京 ; 請求記号:サイ2 63a ; 材質: ; 数量: ; 大きさ:50×35cm ; 解説文:明治5年創刊の『公文通誌』を改題したもので、成島柳北の雑録、末広鉄腸の論説で人気を集め、西南戦争前後すでに1万部の発行部数をもっていた。新聞紙条例、讒謗律が公布された時、新律を攻撃してたびたび発行停止を受け、次第に紙勢が衰え明治26年12月に廃刊。 ; 1879 ; Tokyo ; The Kobun tsushi [Official News], founded in the 5th year of Meiji (1872), was later renamed Choya shinbun [Official and Unofficial News]. Under the new title the newspaper won popularity for human interest stories written by Narushima Ryuhoku and editorials by Suehiro Tetcho. Around the time of the Satsuma Rebellion of 1877 it already had a circulation of 10,000 copies. When the press law and the slander law were promulgated, the Choya shinbun attacked the new policies and was ordered to suspend publication a number of times. It gradually lost ground, and ultimately closed down in December 1893.
