Spine title.
Gilt-edge leaves are tabbed into album with lacquer boards and leather spine; front cover has hand-painted and inlaid scene of two quails, a butterfly, and plants such as chrysanthemums and Japanese bush clovers; inlays are of mother-of-pearl and ivory; back cover is painted view of a dragonfly, a ladybug, a praying mantis, and a butterfly and grasses.
Consists of 50 hand-tinted photographs mounted on 25 leaves show mainly sceneries of Nikko; photographs have no. and English caption printed in the hemline.
Central Library's copy (HD 01955 5) put in a case upholstered in the cloth with caricatured Japanese women pattern; and additionally covered by Library-made case.
